Nelda was born Oct. 7, 1925, in Fort Worth, the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Leona Leissner. She graduated from Polytechnic High School, then Texas Wesleyan College with a degree in education. In 1946, Nelda married Therrell J.

Dodson at Polytechnic Methodist Church in Fort Worth, and they raised four children. Nelda was a loving mother, and an adoring grandmother. She taught English for 20 years at J.P. Elder Middle School and volunteered at Harris Methodist Hospital until she became ill. Nelda was a member of First United Methodist Church and, previously, Eastern Hills Methodist Church.

She was very outgoing and belonged to various social and civic organizations, including Junior Club of Fort Worth, Club of Fort Worth, Carousel Dance Club, Gourmet Club, PTA and Woodhaven Country Club. She was an avid bridge player and played competitively to earn life master points. Nelda loved to travel and see the world and she made each trip an educational adventure for her family and friends who accompanied her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Ysleta Leissner. James Harvey Elson was born Oct. 21, 1917, in Grapevine to Johnnie and Nettie Elson. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a man of vision, very creative, and loved to work with his hands. He was most proud of his work at Bell Helicopter, where he retired after 20 years of service.

He was a member of Arlington Community Church and was a Mason. He greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting. Mr. Elson was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters, one great-grandchild, and two former wives. While serving in the Army, he met and married his wife Louise. During the 20 years in the military, he and his family traveled to foreign countries and enjoyed many exciting experiences. After his retirement from the Army, he settled in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and worked for various well-known electronics firms.

He lovingly dedicated the rest of his life to caring and providing for his beautiful wife and family. Bob loved them all, even the most distant relative. He was predeceased by his daughter, Cynthia Kurtz; parents, Herman and Gladys Kurtz; and brothers, Thomas and Richard Kurtz.
