What a phenomenal two days it has been at the BRG Summit, an event that’s truly a testament to the vibrant culture we cultivate at Kaiser Permanente. The past two days have been a remarkable journey at the Black Directors Health Equity Agenda conference. It was an extraordinary opportunity not only to gain insights from thought leaders in health equity but also to connect with like-minded professionals who are equally passionate about this cause. A standout moment was listening to Greg Adams, our CEO, who shared invaluable perspectives that certainly enriched our discussions. The event also served as a great platform to network with amazing people from Kaiser Permanente and various other organizations, fostering connections that I believe will go a long way in our shared quest for health equity. Each conversation, whether it was during a panel discussion or a casual chat during breaks, contributed to a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.These interactions have been pivotal, reinforcing the belief that collaborative efforts can indeed pave the way for meaningful change. As I reflect on the many takeaways from the conference, I'm more committed than ever to contribute to our mission, drawing from the wisdom shared by leaders and peers alike. Today, I pause to honor a remarkable individual on what would have been his 67th birthday—my father-in-law. His passing in September left a void in our lives, but his legacy endures through the invaluable wisdom and guidance he shared. His principles in life and business have profoundly influenced me, and his example of leadership continues to inspire. On this day, I'm reminded to cherish and emulate the virtues he embodied. We miss him deeply, and I am eternally grateful for the impact he had on our family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory and teachings live on. Rest in peace, Henry K. Myers.
