Ready to go further with the ultimate connected riding experience? The BRP GO! app is a one-stop source that will do much more than take you from point A to point B. With the BRP GO! app, you can download maps, plan routes, share itineraries with your friends, see official trails, see statistics and much more. Plus, you can use it directly on the new 10.25" touchscreen display available on some Can-Am models. Discover the key features of the BRP GO! app and prepare for all the steps of your ride with this article: before, during and after your adventure.
Before your Ride
Before taking a ride on your Can-Am SxS or ATV, follow the steps below in the app to maximize your experience when you’re out on the trails or in the desert.
Download areas for offline riding
Get all your maps before the adventure starts! Sometimes the off-road takes us to surprising places and not all of them have reliable internet connection. So, it is ideal to download the area of the map you intend to explore before leaving your garage to enjoy the most of your BRP GO! app. If the area has been downloaded in advance, most of the navigation features will be available even if you lose the signal. The two exceptions are the locate your friends on the map or the save a custom location features, which require a mobile network connection at all times.
Note: To download an area, you must have an Internet connection.
From the Settings tab:
- In the Navigation section, go to the SETTINGS tab
- Press ADD in the "Offline Areas" section
- Zoom and/or pan the map to select your area. The app will estimate and display the area's download size.
- Press DOWNLOAD
*You can rename or delete your offline area by pressing on it from the SETTINGS tab
From a saved ride:
- Execute the steps to create an itinerary and SAVE your ride
- Press the DOWNLOAD button
- Once the download is completed, your ride will be marked as "Offline ready"
You can consult all your offline areas from the "MAP DETAILS" menu (icon at the top right in the Maps tab)
Plan your routes
Plan your trail or off-trail adventures effortlessly using our app. Create itineraries for a seamless experience to enjoy turn-by-turn navigation with real-time distance updates to your destination and next stop. You can also customize your journey by adding points of interest like gas stations, restaurants, or accommodations. For off-trail excursions, it is possible to manually add waypoints on the map so the itinerary will dynamically form with dotted lines indicating off-trail segments. Make sure you are being a responsible rider by staying on official playgrounds or owned land. Explore our Responsible Rider program for conservation tips. After completing and saving your route, you can analyze the terrain distribution of the included trails.
There are many ways to create an itinerary.
Main way
From the RIDES tab
- Press +
- Press Add Starting Point and select either from - Searching a point of interest in the database - My Location - Select on map to choose a specific location on the map (by long pressing on the screen)
- Press Add Stop and select either from - Searching a point of interest in the database - My Location - Select on map to choose a specific location on the map (by long pressing on the screen)
- Repeat the previous steps as much time as you want to cover all your points.
- Once finished, press DONE
- From the Ride Summary, you can:
- Start your ride immediately ;
- Invite friends to your ride ;
- Download the area of your ride for offline usage ;
- Delete your ride ; - Use the back button to start the ride later (your ride will be saved in the Upcoming Rides section).
Alternative ways
From the map
- Move the map around to find your destination
- Select a POI or create a custom pin location (long press on the screen)
- Click TAKE ME THERE 4. You can change the starting point (default Current Position) and add other waypoints
- Once finished, press DONE
- From the Ride Summary, you can:
- Start your ride immediately ;
- Invite friends to your ride ;
- Download the area of your ride for offline usage ;
- Delete your ride ;
- Use the back button to start the ride later (your ride will be saved in the Upcoming Rides section).
From the search bar
- On the MAPS screen, tap on the search bar
- Search for your POI and tap on the desired result
- Click TAKE ME THERE
- You can change the starting point (default Current Position) and add other waypoint
- Once finished, press DONE
- From the Ride Summary, you can:
- Start your ride immediately ;
- Invite friends to your ride ;
- Download the area of your ride for offline usage ;
- Delete your ride ;
- Use the back button to start the ride later (your ride will be saved in the Upcoming Rides section).
Note: Custom ride creation can only be done through the app on a mobile phone. If you don’t see any rides in the Upcoming Rides tab, it’s because you have not created a ride on your phone.
However, you can create a direct ride to a point of interest from the vehicle display:
- Go to POI (Pin icon) using the touchscreen/steering wheel buttons
- Select POI from database (closest to you)
- Press Start
Create and save custom locations
Create and save custom locations in your BRP GO! account, such as your home, friend’s place, favorite picnic spot or scenic location. These bookmarked spots will be flagged with a star icon on the map, making them easily accessible via the search bar. If you’re midway through your ride and want to return to your friend’s place, select the custom location and quickly generate a route.
- Go to MAPS
- Move around in the map to the right location
- Long press on the screen where you want to add the POI
- Tap SAVE IN MY PLACES
- A pop-up will appear and name the POI
- Tap SAVE PLACE
Invite friends to track their location on the map
The off-road is more fun when you have your crew around. Easily connect with your riding buddies on the go. Invite them to share routes and track your group in real-time on the map. To ride together, first, you need to add them as friends in the app and second invite them to join your rides. Keep in mind that the “locate friends on the map” feature requires a mobile network. If your friends lose their connection, their icon turns grey, preserving their last known position until their connection is restored.
- Go to the FRIENDS tab
- Press +
- Send the generated link via your preferred apps to your friend
- If your friend doesn’t have BRP GO!, they will receive a notification inviting them to download the app. The invitation will be received after they download the app.
- If they have BRP GO!, they will receive a notification
- You might have to pull to refresh to see them in your list
- Execute the steps to create an itinerary and save your ride. If you're recording a ride, click on the RECORD RIDE button on the map.
- Scroll down to the RIDERS section
- Press + Add Rider
- Select which friends you want to add to the rider list. You need to be friends beforehand.
- Press Confirm
- When you’re all ready to go, start the ride and agree to share your location with your friends *Please note that this feature requires a cellular network to work properly.
During your ride
When you're ready to go, be sure to follow the steps below!
Connect your phone to your vehicle
Connect your phone when you are ready to start your adventure and enjoy an enhanced riding experience with a 10.25" display-equipped vehicle. You can then easily navigate through the app interface with the steering wehel controls or touchscreen. If your vehicle isn’t equipped with the 10.25" display, you can still use and benefit from all of the BRP GO!’s features by using it on your phone. A good idea to make navigation easier is simply to mount your phone on your vehicle!
Your vehicle must be equipped with the 10.25" touchscreen display:
- Download the BRP GO! app on your phone
- Make sure that your phone is unlocked and that the BRP GO! app is open on your device
- Connect your phone to the vehicle via the USB cable (the USB connector is located in the glovebox). Once the connection is successful, a black screen will appear on your phone.
- Open the “Navigation” applet on your vehicle display
Start your BRP GO! ride
It’s time to ride and roll! There are two ways to start a ride in BRP GO! on your phone or vehicle display:
- Start a Planned Ride: Access rides you’ve pre-planned, like routes from point A to B. Planned rides can be shared with friends and all your planned adventures should be conveniently found in the “Upcoming” tab within the “Rides” section.
- Begin a Recorded Ride: For spontaneous journeys without a predefined route, hit the RECORD RIDE button on the map. This is ideal for those exploring off-trails or tracking their path in real-time. Record your adventure with a breadcrumb trail and don’t forget to invite friends to see their locations on the map.
- On your phone or vehicle display (when connected), go to Rides
- Select your upcoming ride in the list
- Press Start *To start a planned ride from your vehicle display, you must first have created a ride and saved it from your phone.
- On the MAPS screen, press the RECORD RIDE button
- Press START
Explore map options
Customize your map experience with these options:
- Zoom In/Out: Adjust your screen for optimal visibility.
- Lock North Up: Keep the map fixed in an upward position, similar to a paper map.
- 2D or 3D View: Choose between an overhead view (2D) or a street-level perspective (3D).
- Display Modes: Toggle between Light and Dark modes for the BRP GO! Navigation map in the app.
On mobile: Use your fingers to pinch the screen inward or outward, depending on wether you want to zoom in or out. On the 10.25" touchscreen display: Use the dedicated "+" and "-" buttons to zoom in or out.
At the bottom right of the screen, click on the North compass button (“N”). To deactivate the function, click a second time on the button.
Press the Map Details button at the top right of the screen. You can then toggle between the 2D and 3D views.
On your phone: The display mode must be changed from your phone’s Settings (Display & Brightness). The app will automatically take the phone’s display mode. On your vehicle’s display: When your phone (and BRP GO!) is connected to your display, the app will automatically take the vehicle’s display mode. To change your display mode of the 10.25" display, go to Applet Menu > Preferences > Display > Appearance
AFTER YOUR RIDE
Keep the adrenaline flowing even after you stop riding! Explore your riding stats and relive the thrill by redoing those unforgettable paths. The adventure doesn’t stop when the engine does!
Check your riding stats
When you complete your ride, the key riding stats will be saved in the BRP GO! app. Consult them anytime to know the total time and distance of your ride, your average speed and the maximum and minimum altitudes.
When you completed a ride in the app, the riding statistics will be shown on the mobile app. You can view the statistics at any time by going to: "RIDES" section > "Completed" tab > Select the ride you want to view the statistics.
Duplicate past rides
Relive your favorite moments on your Can-Am with the help of the BRP GO! app and have even more fun the second time!
- For that, you just need to duplicate a past ride, whether it was a planned itinerary or a recorded ride.
- For planned rides: Duplicate the same itinerary and waypoints from your previous ride, ensuring you experience the same route excitement. - For recorded rides: Duplicate and see the previous path (breadcrumb) on the map in a distinct color, guiding you back to the exact location.
- From the RIDES tab, select Completed. You will see all the rides you have completed so far.
- Select the ride you want to start again
- Select DUPLICATE
- Consult the ride parameters. If necessary, rename the ride, download it or add new participants.
- Press START to start your ride, or press the back arrow if you plan to leave at another time
