Edible Cookie Dough Dip Recipe
Last time I served a big bowl of this irresistible edible cookie dough at a party, it got gobbled up in no time! Kids and adults alike just can’t keep themselves at bay when this dip is presented.
The most common question you’ll hear when you serve this dip is, “are there any raw eggs in it?” There aren’t, and it’s hard to believe! Usually, it’s obvious when eggs are missing from cookie dough. This chocolate chip cookie dough tastes just like the real stuff… if not even better!
Dessert dips are always a fun dish to whip up and serve, especially this one! Everyone loves cookie dough, so it’s exciting to see people smile when taking a big bite of this dip.

- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Place in a serving dish.
Should I use light or dark brown sugar for chocolate chip cookie dough?
Either option will work just fine! Dark brown sugar has a deeper, richer flavor, while light brown sugar isn’t as rich. Whichever version you prefer will do the trick! Here’s a little trick – if you really want to use dark brown sugar, but you’re all out, it’s easy to make your own. Simply combine one cup of light brown sugar with 1 tablespoon of molasses to create a very rich dark brown sugar!
Why do I need to bake the flour for edible cookie dough?
When you think about unsafe raw foods to eat, your mind probably goes to things like raw eggs or undercooked chicken.
However, flour is technically a raw ingredient! It’s made from grains, which can be exposed to all kinds of different harmful bacteria. Before tossing a cup of raw flour into your cookie dough dip mix, make sure to bake it for just 5 minutes. This will eliminate any possibility of harmful bacteria finding their way into your dip!
How long will chocolate chip cookie dough dip stay fresh?
When storing it, double-check that the container is truly air-tight! Even a small amount of air can dry this dip out very quickly. In an airtight container in the fridge, this chocolate chip cookie dough will stay fresh for up to 3 days. If you pop it in the freezer in the same container, it’ll stay fresh for 3 months! When you’re ready to serve it, allow it to thaw out in the fridge for a few hours, preferably overnight.
Recipe Tips and Tricks
- To make this dip festive, you can dress it up for any occasion by switching up the sprinkles and chocolate chips! For example, during Christmas, I like using red and green sprinkles with peppermint chips instead of chocolate chips.
- When serving, offer a plethora of different cookies to use as dippers. That way, everyone can find their favorite combo!
- For the smoothest dip that’s easy to smear, it should be only slightly chilled, even room temperature. If you’re taking it out of the fridge to serve, allow it to sit at room temperature for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Celebrate a birthday party, holiday, or anything else with this easy to make cookie dough dip!
